About us

The Hous Apportin and the family

In our rooms and floors as well as in the breakfast room of our guesthouse you see paintings of the two artists Josef Apportin and Irene Apportin-Kropp. Music and Arts play a major role in our life. If you come to our guesthouse it may happen that you witness a concert or hear some of us playing classical music. Our team in Haus Apportin is humorous, colourful and creative consisting of three generations. One of our guests called us Villa Villekulla [Pippi Longstocking’s house; Astrid Lindgren]. The German word is “Villa Kunterbunt” and it means directly translated multi-coloured villa. This metaphor fits in so far as Pipi is also hospitable and unorthodox.

Individuality

We act individually in many respects: We try to operate in a sustainable manner especially with energy and water. There are solar collectors on the roofs of our guest houses as well as photovoltaic systems. Moreover, we have cogeneration units (combined heat and power units CHP) for heating and hot water and for electricity production. In the proximity we walk, by bicycle or we take the electric-car, charged-up by our own solar power. For breakfast we offer local and fair traded products. (See Services) What we are precisely? Some would call us guesthouse others hostel. We are not classified as a hotel. That means for us, that you come to stay in guestrooms with charm and you are not housing anonymously. You can have Bed and Breakfast (B&B) or you can come as cyclist and take us as Bed and Bike. You will find accommodation in our family run guest house in a quarter with friendly atmosphere. Pour les Français, nous sommes une Auberge, un Hôtel de Charme. Dla Paǹstwa z Polski jesteśmy uroczym pensjonatem.
